Jagan’s Job Quota: Andhra Bus Attacked in Karnataka

The 75% Reservations to Locals Law brought by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government in Andhra Pradesh has become a headache for the Telugu People working in Karnataka. A few Kannada Organizations have been agitating for the last few days demanding the same law to be implemented in the state.

The agitation has become violent in Mangalore this morning. The agitators have attacked an Andhra Pradesh Bus plying between Tirupati and Mangalore. They have pelted stones at the Bus near Firangipet. They shouted slogans saying Go Back To Andhra and Jobs only for Locals.

The Telugu People in Karnataka are fearing of this agitation. A huge population of Telugu people is residing in Bengaluru, Mysore, Raichur, and other areas of the state. Some of them have settled there for several decades. A huge number of youth also go to Bengaluru in search of IT Jobs.

“When your Chief Minister says Jobs only for locals, we can do the same as well,” the agitators said. “Immigration is a sensitive subject and has all the chances of becoming xenophobia. Jagan touched the wrong subject. If that happens in Karnataka, it will endanger the people living there,” a Political Expert opined.
