Jagan's Social Justice Starts & Ends With Kammas!

YSR Congress released its sixth list of party in charges. Jagan had changed the candidate for Mylavaram. Swarnala Tirupati Rao is made the incharge in the place of sitting MLA, Vasantha Krishna Prasad.

Mylavaram is a Kamma-dominant constituency. Parties always field Kamma candidates from here. This time YSR Congress opted for a BC candidate and claims this is an example of Social Justice under Jagan Mohan Reddy.

But then, this Social Justice of Jagan is nothing but a sham. Social Justice does not mean announcing BC candidates in the seats where the party will definitely lose. If Jagan is so serious about the so-called Social Justice, he should prove it in Rayalaseema or his native Kadapa district.

Out of a total of Fifty-two constituencies in Rayalaseema, Reddys got 33 seats (64%) in the 2019 elections.

If Jagan is serious about social justice, he should give tickets to BCs without financial backgrounds in constituencies that were dominated by the Reddy community for decades together.

For instance, the Kadapa Parliament did not have a single non-Reddy candidate ever since Madras State in 1952. It is also the case with Jagan’s own constituency with Pulivendula. Jagan’s social justice can begin at home.

The number of Reddy MLAs in AP Assembly has gone up to 49 in 2019 from 38 in 2014. What is significant is all the elected Reddy legislators are from YSRCP.

Social Justice is not about giving losing seats to BCs as Tokenism while giving winning seats to Own Commun
