The announcement of the glass tumbler as a common symbol became a headache for Jana Sena and its alliance parties, TDP and BJP.
As the glass tumbler was announced as a free symbol, the Rashtriya Praja Congress Party filed a petition in the High Court, requesting to allocate the symbol for it. The High Court heard arguments from both sides and reserved the judgment.
Jana Sena was announced as a registered party and not a recognized party. On the other side, TDP and YCP were announced as the recognized parties from Andhra Pradesh. Only recognized parties will be given common symbols and not registered parties.
As a result, Jana Sena’s glass tumbler was made a free symbol. Making it a free symbol would create confusion among voters and affect not only Jana Sena but TDP and BJP too.
Jana Sena’s legal team is trying their best to claim the symbol exclusively for their party.
