‘Auto Politics’ Gain Speed in Jubilee Hills

The election campaign in Jubilee Hills constituency has intensified as all political parties are working tirelessly to reach voters. Leaders believe the outcome here could shape the future political landscape of Telangana.

Amid the heated campaign, ‘auto politics’ has taken centre stage in the constituency. Both the BRS and ruling Congress are focusing on auto drivers, considering them a crucial voter group.

On Monday, BRS leaders drew attention by travelling in autos to highlight their support for drivers. The next day, Minister Seetakka also toured Jubilee Hills in an auto while canvassing for her party. She assured drivers that the government is addressing their concerns and highlighted the welfare schemes currently benefiting citizens.

However, the government’s free bus ride scheme has caused distress among auto drivers, affecting their earnings. The opposition BRS has accused the Congress of failing to deliver its promise of providing Rs 12,000 per annum to auto drivers.

Since autos form a vital part of daily commuting in Hyderabad, BRS often raises this issue to connect with the working class. The party had even created ruckus in the Assembly earlier over the same demand.

For now, auto politics continues to dominate the campaign narrative in Jubilee Hills. It remains to be seen which party will ultimately gain the drivers’ trust and the seat.
