The Karur stampede during Vijay’s TVK Party rally continues to stir controversy, with police filing cases under multiple sections against the event coordinators. The incident has now taken a new twist after reports surfaced about senior TVK leaders allegedly being unreachable.
Journalist Vasudha Venugopal posted on X that Tamil Nadu police are searching for TVK General Secretary Aadhav Arjuna, Jagadish of The Route (a social media management company), and bouncer Naeem, but that their phones remain switched off. Her tweet quickly went viral, triggering heated reactions online.
Some users accused TVK members of suspicious behaviour, comparing their actions to those of “a murderer trying to escape after committing a crime.” Others, however, criticised the journalist, asking her not to spread what they called unverified or fake news.
TVK leaders have strongly denied the claims, calling them baseless and misleading. Since the tragedy, social media has been flooded with speculation, theories, and counter-statements, further deepening the controversy surrounding the stampede.
