Kavitha Helping Congress Or Congress Using Kavitha?

The political developments around Kavitha have raised an important question. Is Kavitha helping the Congress, or is the Congress using her situation to its advantage?

When Kavitha revolted against the BRS, Andhrajyothy initially reported that she was in touch with the Congress High Command. Kavitha denied the claim and hinted that she would follow her own path under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi.

However, recent events suggest a growing alignment between Kavitha and the Congress. This perception has strengthened after her resignation speech and the timing of its acceptance.

Kavitha delivered an emotional speech in the Council, stating that it was her last day as an MLC. She broke down while speaking about how she was insulted, sidelined, and pushed out of the BRS party despite her contributions.

The speech was deeply personal and unusually long. Many were surprised that the Chair allowed her to continue without interruption.

The Council Chairman, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, belongs to the BRS but is said to be moving closer to the Congress. This has led to speculation about why Kavitha was given the space to speak freely.

The Congress strategy appears evident in how Kavitha’s resignation was handled. Although it was submitted in September, it was accepted only in January, coinciding with the momentum of the local body election process.

This move helped the Congress avoid a by-election while the existing local representatives were still in office. Kavitha’s cooperation and lack of protest over the delay have further fueled speculation about a future alignment.

There are also rumours that the Congress plans to field former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin from Kavitha’s seat. Azharuddin was made a Minister during the Jubilee Hills By-election in November.

As per rules, he must win as an MLA or MLC within six months. Kavitha’s resignation makes this path easier for the Congress.

At present, Kavitha has also been critical of the Revanth Reddy Government, though her criticism is not as sharp as it has been against the BRS.

All these developments raise serious political questions. Is Kavitha aiding the Congress, or is the Congress tactically using her resignation?

Either way, these moves are likely to leave KCR deeply unhappy.
