KCR Consolidating Media Base?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to be extremely cautious in building a narrative about his ruling in the people. We have all seen how he cracked the whip over TV9 and ABN Andhrajyothy immediately after the 2014 elections. Many political observers believe that set the otherwise very ruly media in its place while dealing with KCR.

KCR bent slightly before Media Baron Ramoji Rao while managed to rein the speed of ABN Radhakrishna. But then he is always aware that media can overpower him just before the elections and so he is trying to consolidate his media base well in advance.

We have seen KCR’s confidante, My Home Rameshwara Rao aggressively wooing some big TV channels to blow KCR’s Trumpet. Besides that, there are Pro-Telangana Channels like T-News and Newspaper like Namasthe Telangana which directly operate from TRS Bhavan.

And now by appointing former Congress MP Vivek as Adviser for the government in inter-state affairs, KCR brought to his fold, V6 channel, another popular Pro-Telangana Channel which enjoys huge popularity in the interiors of the newest state. We have an English Newspaper, Telangana Daily coming up very soon. Looks like KCR has a strategy to consolidate media support.
