KCR Gets Pawan Kalyan’s Man To Lead BRS In AP?

Former IAS officer Thota Chandrasekhar was in Janasena previously. He was the party’s General Secretary and contested for the Eluru Parliament segment in 2014 on a YSR Congress ticket but lost.

Before that, he unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha seat from Guntur in 2009 on PRP ticket

He contested for the Guntur West assembly on the Janasena ticket in 2019 and came a distant third.

He became inactive in the party after the defeat. Reports are that Thota is shifting to KCR‘s BRS Party.

Sources say that Chandrasekhar may be made BRS’s Andhra Pradesh President.

Buzz is that some other former IAS officers will be joining BRS along with Thota. Probably that means the party is targeting educated voters.

Thota is also from the Kapu community who are decisive in Andhra Pradesh politics. So, this appointment works both ways.

But then, Thota is not a charismatic leader and so, all these calculations may not actually hold well.

Thota is also into the IT business and also owns a News Channel, 99TV.
