KCR govt. to end the honeymoon with GHMC

Ahead of the GHMC elections, Telangana government is ambitious to bring radical changes in the Hyderabad City’s infrastructure and go for the public mandate. However the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is completely reluctant to cooperate with the government in achieving its dream of smart Hyderabad.

The corporation failed to even spend half of its allocated budget for 2014-15, an indication of failure to improve facilities in the city. For example, GHMC allocated 335 Crore for impving storm water drain system but only 81 Crore is used. 1107 Crore is allocated for laying roads but only 509 Crore is spent.

Same is the case with all the funds allocated to various priority areas. Telangana government should immediately focus on repairing the reckless attitude of the corporation to improve living conditions in the city.
