KCR Keeps His Key Men at 5 Minutes Reach

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao will be inaugurating his 40-crore camp office-cum-residence, being built on a nine-acre plot in Begumpet on Vijaya Dasami Day. On the other side, four villas, each costing Rs 1.5 crore, are being built for the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, city police commissioner and Legislature Secretary which will come up at next door to the Chief Minister.

KCR wants his key officials to be in five minutes reach in case of the emergency meetings. The old IAS quarters in Punjagutta were demolished and these villas will come up there. The villas which will have the built up area of 5000 square feet are being built on 500 square yard plots and will be ready by next Sankranthi.

It is known that the Chief Minister has been functioning from his camp office in Begumpet since January 2015 since the current Secretariat buildings had dangerous vaastu defects. He rarely visits the CMO at the secretariat and is conducting the review meetings at MCRHRDI, Jubilee Hills or in a private hotel.
