KCR sanctions Bullet Proof Vehicles for Ministers

Telangana Rashtra Samiti had been claiming that there is no Maoist scare in the new state of India despite various security agencies warning about a possible upsurge of Maoists in Telangana. However the Chief Minister, K Chandra Sekhar Rao had backtracked on their own assurance and sanctioned Bullet Proof Cars to his cabinet colleagues.

The state had sanctioned Rs. 27,93,48,00 to purchase 70 new vehicles for VVIP/VIP security earlier this Month and now the chief minister allotted 30 bullet-proof Mahindra Scorpio VLX-7 STR each worth Rs 54 lakh to the ministers. There are reports that Intelligence Reports suggested a possible Maoist attack on the Ministers in Telangana government.

The Chief Minister will be using three bullet proof vehicles while the Deputy CMs will be using two each. The other cabinet ministers will get one each of these vehicles. KCR also agreed to replace the existing vehicles in his convoy. The three bullet proof vehicles in CM’s convoy includes two bullet-proof Land Cruiser Prado each worth Rs 1.39 crore and five bullet-proof Toyota Fortuner 3.0 4WD each costing Rs 77.56 lakh.
