Did KCR Take a Calculative Risk?

Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao’s speech at Gajwel in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi looked like having the potential to change Telugu Politics. KCR surprised everyone by fully submitting to BJP acknowledging the party’s role in Telangana Creation and solving major problems of Telangana including the big Power Problem.

KCR went on to say Modi has surprised him by offering a 100% Corruption free government, the first time in his 40 years career. KCR also called Modi as the Most Loved Politician in the country. This speech indicates that KCR had extended his hand to BJP in open and are likely to join the NDA government in case TDP pulls out.

This, however, comes with a calculative risk. What if that did not happen? BJP Fans are so delighted with KCR’s Speech the other day, they went on to say that, BJP can easily go into next elections distributing KCR’s speeches as CDs portraying BJP’s achievements. Did KCR submit to Modi only after getting into an understanding with BJP?

“We do not see this as a risk. We are very much aware of BJP strength in the state. They can not capitalize on this credit given by the Chief Minister and use it against us. In case, they are ready for our friendship, the offer is already open. In case, they do not. We do not think they can impact Telangana politics,” a Senior TRS Leader on anonymity responded about this. On the other side, things are getting tough for BJP after 2014 elections. The need to increase their allies for 2019 is increasing with every Assembly election result. So, getting majority seats from both the Telugu states through the allies is important for NDA and Modi.
