KCR to Rethink on Land Policy?

If there is something which drew flak from the people in the two years rule of KCR, it has to be the land acquisition policy of the state government which is looking like breathing life in to the opposition. The state government earlier removed the Rehabilitation and Resettlement clause to bring down land acquisition costs.

But now the government is planning to bring it back. In the revised policy, the state government is planning to offer 2BHK house and a job to oustee’s family. The government has to do a lot of land acquisition in the next few years as it needs to acquire 1,04,628 acres for irrigation projects.

Nearly 12,500 acres need to be acquired for Pharma City on the city outskirts at Mucherla. The land acquisition is not even 25% complete until now. The revised benefits are likely to be extended for the farmers who have already given their lands previously.
