KCR’s 1200 Cr Trap To Win Huzurabad?

In a first in the country, CM KCR-led Telangana Government has decided to provide Rs 10 Lakh financial assistance to each Dalit family in the state. In the first phase, 11,900 people will get money directly into their bank account. TRS Government will be spending Rs 1200 Crore for the ‘CM Dalit Empowerment Programme’.

However, Opposition parties say that this is a jhumla by KCR to win the Huzurabad by-election. “Huzurabad has over 45,000 SC votes. The by-poll has become imminent after Etela Rajender resigned. KCR wants to win there at any cost and prove TRS is still a hot favorite,” they allege.

Etela who is in TRS since its inception was shunted out of the party unceremoniously. He joined BJP and will be the saffron party’s candidate in the by-election. BJP which was on a high with Dubbaka and GHMC elections later lost steam by losing MLC elections and Nagarjunasagar By-poll. They are basking on Etela’s glory to be back in the race.

Etela has been won four elections on a trot in Huzurabad since 2009. But he won on TRS ticket every single time. BJP lost its deposit here in the 2018 elections and its candidate came fifth after NOTA and an independent.
