Kodela Asked To Appear Before The High Court

Andhra Pradesh Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao may have to attend the proceedings of High Court on 10th of this month in the case regarding the Violation of Election Rules. Kodela in a TV interview himself admitted that he had spent 11.5 Crore in 2014 elections. YSR Congress Party has filed a case against him for the violation of election rules.

The petitioner asked the court to interrogate the issue under Election Rules of 171E, F, G, I of 200 IPC to find out why he spent so much of money? How he got the money? and How the Money was Spent? Kodela previously got a Stay in this case which got lapsed on 27th September.

The High Court refused to give an extension and asked Kodela to attend before it on 10th of this month. It has to be seen what Kodela does now? It may be inconvenient for him and the party given that he is holding a constitutional post and Opposition will corner them for that.
