Kommineni Gets Judicial Remand

The Mangalagiri Court gave 14-day remand orders to Sakshi anchor Kommineni Srinivasa Rao. Kommineni who is popular as KSR was arrested at his house in Journalists Colony in Hyderabad and brought to Guntur.

The 70-year-old KSR anchored a show during which objectionable comments were made by a journalist Krishnam Raju against Amaravati women.

The issue caused furore among AP citizens and the National Commission for Women took suo moto section in the matter.

KSR, instead of cutting short the journalist, allowed him to continue bad-mouthing Amaravati women. He was arrested for abetting a crime happening right on his show.

The alliance government has taken swift action as they want the people of Andhra Pradesh to understand that cheap talk against women means strict action and even jail.

Kommineni has been shifted to Guntur district jail till further orders are given by the Court.

Women of Amaravati and citizens of Andhra Pradesh have been expressing their anger over social media regarding the issue and demanding action against those involved.

However, the YSRCP leaders including Jagan has been calling KSR’s arrest an act of vengeance.
