This could delay Amaravati construction?

The inundation problem of Kondaveeti Vaagu may delay the start of the Seed Capital construction in Amaravati. Kondaveeti Vaagu will submerge nearly 12000 acres in Seed Capital area. According to the Master Plan, a first of its kind reservoir on Kondaveeti Vaagu was planned which can prevent flooding and as well be a source of drinking water requirements and will also serve as a major tourist attraction.

So experts reportedly have advised the government to complete the reservoir on Kondaveeti Vaagu before the Seed capital construction. As a result this will delay the construction by at least six months.

On the other side, the state government is also mulling on the alternatives like diverting Kondaveeti Vaagu to Krishna West Canal or emptying Prakasam Barrage and diverting flood water to the Barrage when floods occurred.
