KTR Accuses Revanth Reddy of Shunting Out L&T

BRS working president KTR has levelled fresh allegations against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy whom he called ‘mudupula’ Revanth Reddy. He accused him of pressuring companies for favours and claimed that L&T, which built and operates the Hyderabad Metro, is leaving the city due to political interference.

KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy forced L&T with demands for bribes, pushing the company to consider exiting. He recalled that Revanth had earlier spoken about arresting the company’s CFO. He said the situation reflects a worrying trend of governance under the present leadership.

Just days ago, L&T announced it could no longer manage the rising costs of running the Metro. The company even wrote to the Union MAUD Minister stating that ticket revenues alone cannot cover expenses. This has added fuel to KTR’s strong accusations.

The Hyderabad Metro project was launched during the BRS government, when L&T was given the contract. While commuters find the Metro convenient, affordability remains key. As most passengers are price sensitive, ticket fares cannot be raised enough to offset the losses.
