BRS working president KTR strongly opposed the proposal to merge Secunderabad into Malkajgiri. He said the move would erase Secunderabad’s unique identity. KTR spoke to the media at Telangana Bhavan while joining the peace rally to save the Secunderabad corporation.
KTR criticised governance under Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, calling it reckless and irresponsible. He questioned the change of vehicle number plates from TS to TG. He also pointed out the removal of Bathukamma from the Telugu Talli statue.
He asked what purpose these symbolic changes served and who benefited from them. KTR said such actions only created confusion and hurt public sentiment. He questioned why the government was focused on symbols instead of addressing real public issues.
KTR condemned attempts by the state government to stop the peace rally. He said Hyderabad and Secunderabad are globally known as twin cities. By altering symbols and historic links, he asked what the Chief Minister hoped to achieve.
KTR said the Chief Minister forgot the six guarantees and 420 promises. He noted that KCR increased districts from 10 to 33 for better governance. He accused the current government of trying to reverse people-friendly decisions.
He also criticised the overnight arrests of corporators and BRS leaders to block the rally. KTR said Rahul Gandhi must respond to the issue. He demanded unconditional release of those arrested and vowed to continue the rally.
KTR promised that Secunderabad would be made a separate district once BRS returns to power. He ended by saying power is temporary and people will choose what is right at the right time.
