Little Respite for YSR Congress in Kakinada

YSR Congress is relieved that it managed at least a double digit number in Kakinada Municipal Elections. A close look at the winning segments of YSR Congress reveals that a majority of these 10 divisions are from SC and Christian dominated areas.

This will bring a sense of relief for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that the party’s support base is intact even after such drubbing. But then, the result indicates the party may not perform any better in Godavari districts if elections are held today.

In the last elections, Godavari districts contributed to the loss of YSR Congress. Jagan had pinned high hopes to win these elections and show the mood has changed. But the anti-incumbency and Mudragada factors seems to be over-estimated.
