It is that time of year, one does not need Cycle symbol to win an election, even the tag ‘TDP Rebel’ will also ensure the win. It is exactly happening in Kakinada. TDP has cruised to a sensational victory winning 32 out of the total 48 divisions.

BJP managed to win just three out of the 9 divisions allotted to it while TDP Rebels managed to win in three divisions. Effectively, TDP has won 38 divisions along with BJP and Rebels. The main opposition which extensively campaigned in Kakinada for several days under Vijay Sai Reddy could only manage to win 10 divisions.
This loss is humiliating and comes days after Nandhyal defeat. This election indicates the mood of Godavari districts which seems to be more or less the same like last elections when they unilaterally voted for TDP. YSR Congress had pinned high hopes on the resentment of Kapu Community over reservations issue.
But then, it is clear that Kapu Community also voted to TDP here. Future looks bleak for YSR Congress as of now and Jagan should do something to lift the morale of the cadre and leaders. Else 2019 is going to be very difficult.
