KCR Is Trying To Score Over Jagan In This Issue

The YS Jagan-led Andhra Pradesh government is terrorizing the Telugu film industry with its highly suppressive restrictions in regards to cinema ticket pricing. On the other hand, KCR is providing some much needed support to the film industry.

The KCR-leg Telangana government has passed a new pricing model that will be applicable at all the cinema halls across the state.

As per the newly passed model, the ticket prices at single screens are capped at Rs 150 while at multiplexes, the maximum pricing is Rs 250. This can go up to Rs 350 for recliners.

This is a very flexible and more importantly reasonable pricing system that can greatly boost Tollywood’s prospects. As in AP, the ticket prices at certain centres are capped at as low as Rs 10.

It is very much evident that KCR is trying to score over Jagan in the cinema tickets issue. The TRS chief appears to have understood that Tollywood might be a small body but it directly influences the common public. Telugu people and Telugu films are inseparable and KCR has grasped the same.

But as for Jagan, he is going really hard on the industry for reasons best known to him. The difference in approach between the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is agonizingly big.
