LuLu Mall Irks Hyderabad Commuters

Abu Dhabi-based retail giant LuLu Group has made its debut in the Indian state of Telangana with the opening of a massive 500,000 sqft mall and hypermarket in Hyderabad, the state capital.

This expansion marks LuLu Group’s presence in its sixth Indian city, following successful ventures in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Coimbatore.

However, the overwhelming response from Hyderabad’s residents led to significant traffic congestion, causing delays of up to 40 minutes for mall visitors. Commuters were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the gridlock caused by LuLu Mall traffic.

Frustration over the traffic situation was vented on social media, with residents expressing concerns and requesting action from the Hyderabad Traffic Police Department.

The high turnout and excitement surrounding the mall opening were reminiscent of similar events, such as IKEA’s debut in the city.

Despite the initial traffic challenges, LuLu Group’s expansion into Hyderabad signifies its commitment to serving India’s burgeoning consumer market and providing a wide range of shopping options.

Addressing traffic issues may be necessary to ensure a seamless shopping experience for visitors in the long run.
