Malaysia tourists beeline to Vizag airport

Vishakapatnam airport has become a hub for passengers arriving from Malaysia are using Vizag Airport as a transit airport. The airport is being used as transit airport to other cities in the country. The passengers are choosing Vishakapatnam airport due to cheaper air fares on this route.

However the transit flights from Vishakapatnam to other cities of India are very costly and are turning out to be a dampener for such air travelers to the Port City. Some of the travelers stay in the city over night for the next morning transit flights and there by increase the revenues to the city.

The passengers flow will further increase if there are stay facilities at the airport, the nearest hotel to the airport is some 2 Kilometers away. Government needs to plan transit lounges at the airport and they should be available 24×7 for visitors with prices fixed on an hourly basis for the benefit of air passengers.
