
PM Narendra Modi met several BJP leaders for breakfast on Thursday and reportedly said that the alliance with TDP was a positive and strategic decision. According to those present, he noted that the feedback on Chandrababu’s governance in Andhra Pradesh has been encouraging.
The meeting included MPs from Andhra, Telangana and Andamans. Modi held a 30 minute discussion with 15 MPs and is said to have appreciated the rising investment flow into Andhra Pradesh. He also urged BJP leaders to counter what he described as the social media narrative coming from Jagan and his party.
On Telangana, PM Modi reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the BJP’s performance in the state. He felt the party was not functioning as a strong opposition and questioned why a more effective team had not been put together. Despite the opportunities available, Modi said local leaders were not fully utilising them.
He further asked Telugu MPs to take up national issues more proactively. Modi directed them to tour their respective regions, identify public concerns, and raise those matters effectively.
