Modi Govt Moves Hard On Stray Dogs Menace!

The Modi government has taken a firm step to address the growing stray dog menace across the country. Recently, the Supreme Court allowed the removal and relocation of stray dogs from sensitive areas such as hospitals, schools, and highways. The ruling followed rising dog-bite rabies deaths.

Animal rights activists opposed the decision, calling it anti-dogs. Despite protests, the Centre has now issued strict directives to all states. Every district must submit detailed reports on stray dogs removed and manpower deployed for the task.

The Centre will closely monitor compliance with Supreme Court orders and standard operating procedures. State administrations are expected to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Any lapses in implementation will come under review.

The National Animal Welfare Board has identified dog bites as a national health crisis. Thousands are injured every year, including children and the elderly. The data has strengthened the urgency behind stricter enforcement measures.

Under the new SOPs, municipalities and panchayats are directly accountable. The government has stated that animal welfare is important. However, in emergency situations, human life will take priority. Negligence will no longer be tolerated.
