Unofficial leaks from the Union government says that there will be restrictions in place on cash withdrawal forever even after December 30th in a bid to discourage cash transactions. This is a very harsh decision in a country where majority population has no access to banks or internet banking etc.

Also, the government is also planning to put curbs on domestic gold holdings which are a very dangerous step. Gold is an integral part of Indian families and is also a sentiment. Placing curbs on it will make things extremely hard for the government. Middle class invests big in gold as it is an essential commodity in Indian marriages.

These Two steps may also invite trouble from the state government which definitely would not want to share the Center’s bad time. As long as people are being taxed, it is not the business of the government to look into how people are spending their wealth. Coming days will be interesting!
