Naidu’s ‘Mission 1 Lakh Acres’ to begin shortly!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wants to reclaim the One Lakh Acres allotted to various industries and individuals in Andhra Pradesh without due process being followed during the previous Congress regimes. There are several controversial projects like Lepakshi Knowledge City and Vanpic where the then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy allotted land on quid pro quo basis.

Naidu is planning to reclaim these land and explore the possibility of leasing out the land for 33 years instead of selling it outright. This mission of Chandrababu will also benefit him in a way politically his opponents in opposition will also come under the corruption scanner.

Most of the lands were granted for setting up industries but they were diverted to other money making purposes.The government had asked collectors to identify cases of irregular land allotments and file a report. The reclaimed lands will be added to the state’s proposed Land bank. The report is expected to be readied in a week’s time.
