Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said proposals have been sent to the Finance Department to improve infrastructure in several educational institutions across the state. He assured the Assembly that works would be taken up soon.
During Question Hour, MLAs raised multiple issues related to education and basic facilities. Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy requested the setting up of a Triple IT campus and better infrastructure in local colleges. Responding to this, Lokesh clarified that there is currently no proposal for a Triple IT in Puttaparthi but said the matter would be brought to the attention of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
In another discussion, Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu highlighted the growing need for drinking water due to the increasing number of devotees visiting the temple town. He suggested exploring water supply through the Galeru-Nagari and Handri-Neeva projects. Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu responded that water supply would be strengthened to meet rising demand.
Bobbili MLA Baby Nayana questioned the status of the Locharla Sivadaavalasa lift irrigation scheme. Minister Ramanaidu said tenders were cancelled and works stalled during the previous YSRCP government’s tenure.
Polavaram MLA Balaraju raised concerns about employee transfers in tribal areas. Minister Sandhya Rani said the previous government failed to address court-related issues properly, which led to complications. She assured that corrective steps would now be taken.
The discussions reflected ongoing gaps in infrastructure and governance, with the present government promising to push pending works forward.
