When Nara Lokesh was first given an elevated position within the TDP ranks, the party was in a dire state in 2019. In fact, Lokesh himself had lost from Mangalagiri and was facing extreme pressure.
But Lokesh turned out to be an absolute fighter as he did not just reinvent himself as a politician, but also rejuvenated TDP from the fundamental level. The constant interaction with the working leadership and the enormous membership drive worked extremely well.
Lokesh undeniably played an instrumental role in TDP’s return to power along with the NDA alliance. But this was a thing in the past, and what awaits now is a deeper challenge as he got nominated as the national working president of TDP.
Lokesh had adequate time before 2024 to sit down with the working leadership, listen to them and address all the issues. But things are different now as he is serving as the IT minister of the state.
Apart from the party duties, Lokesh will also have to look after the administrative responsibilities while also interacting with leading tech companies to bring potential investments.
Lokesh has too much on his plate already, and he is now going to have to look after the party affairs as well. Fundamentally firing up a party while in a position is comparatively easier as certain promises can be made to enhance the morale. But once the party comes to power, it is tough to satisfy everyone as literally everyone wants a piece of power.
This is going to be an interesting and defining challenge for Lokesh, and we have to patiently wait and see how he would suffice the responsibility placed on him. He has experienced father Chandrababu to guide him but he will also have to take the tough calls on his own now, as the CM chair itself is not too far at this point.
