Narendra Modi is all set to tour Jammu and Kashmir state for the first time in Prime Minister position. Modi will inaugurate Kathra-Udhampur Railway line in Kathra town on July 4th. Union Ministers Sadanand Gowd and Jithendra Singh in the one day tour. After inaugurating the railway route, Modi will have a meeting with security personnel in Srinagar. The governor will later host lunch for the prime minister at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.
Modi is also scheduled to visit Uri town in Baramulla district to inaugurate the 240 MW Uri-II hydroelectric power project. Modi’s visit assumes significance as the entire nation has trusted him to solve the Kashmir Problem with Pakistan. Also people are eager to see if Modi will make an announcement or move regarding the scrapping of Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. A controversial statement about scrapping it from a Union Minister drew flak from the Chief Minister of the state.
