Universities Galore to Amaravati

Chandra Babu government fast transforming Amaravati into the world class educational hub. After the bifurcation of the state, AP lost all premier educational institutes to Telangana which are based in Hyderabad.Sensing the shortage of quality higher education in AP which dampens the progress of industry also, Naidu government within a short span promulgated the AP private universities Act’2016 paving the way for setting up of reputed private universities.

Given the ambitious plans for Amaravati by Naidu, one of the top-ranked university in the world, NUS Singapore also setting up the base here offering Ph.D.’s & fellowship courses. The expert panel constituted by AP government also cleared the applications of VIT University, SRM University, Amity University and Centurion University. AP government also fast tracks the allotment of land for the said universities in Amaravati.

The other biggies waiting for the approval included Saveetha Medical University, Amrita University, Karunya University, TERI and IFMR (Institute of Financial Management and Research) with a total investment of whopping 10,000 crores. Already Stanford University & Harvard University entered into MoU with Andhra University for offering various courses.
