New Year Drunk & Drive: Rs 15,000 Fine, 2 Yrs Jail

New Year celebrations are underway already and in this context, Hyderabad Police have issued a new set of regulations that are in effect now.

As per the new regulations passed by the Telangana police, those who are caught in drunk and drive case for the first time in the night will be fined Rs 10,000.

Those who are caught in second violation for the night will be fined Rs 15,000 and will also be sentenced to two years in jail.

This is the first time Telangana police have imposed such hefty fines on drunk and drive cases. This should keep the detractors at bay and that’s of utmost importance at this hour.

The new regulations are already in effect now. The police have also set up a substantially high number of checkpoints in order to enforce the drunk and drive traffic regulations to the fullest effect.
