RAT dupes Crores from Hyderabadis

Fraudsters are coming up with new ideas to dupe innocent people. One such new technique adopted by Nigerian fraudsters is Remote Access Trojans (RAT). They reportedly duped Hyderabad people of crores of rupees.

Two businessmen owning machine tool manufacturing firms in Kukatpally and Balanagar areas lost Crores to an impersonator who posed as the foreign-based raw material supplier. They used email spoofing to pose as genuine client.

They installed a malware in the victim’s computer and read all the emails of the victims related to business transactions. In some cases, the debit card and bank details were also robbed emptying the bank accounts of the victims.
