No GST Benefit for Telangana?

Central Government had credited the tax devolution in GST collections for July, the first month after which the Tax is introduced. Telangana has got 1174 Crore which is 4 crores less than what Telangana used to get before the implementation of GST.

That dashes the state’s hopes of getting higher tax devolution from the Central government. Center repeatedly promised that it will take care of the revenue drop to the state after GST introduction but that did not happen evidently.

Center has assured Telangana government that it will stand to get an additional 300 crore every month, amounting to an additional income of at least 3000 crores per year. That does not seem to be the case now. Center, however, says that the lower income is to extended timelines extended to the traders.
