No joke! Vijayawada Metro attracts Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid special emphasis on the Vijayawada Metro Rail Project during video conference with principal secretaries and secretaries of several states and union territories. The special focus of PMO may help the project to be completed in time.

Earlier the PMO directly enquired about Nadikude-Srikalahasthi railway line work and asked to expedite the progress. Narendra Modi asked the status of the Vijayawada Metro Rail after giving instructions to officials to fast-track all the infra projects for growth of the nation. PMO special interest can definitely help this project to get loan Rs.3,500 crores from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The first phase of the project to be completed by December 2018.

This comes as a big surprise as Center so far being very insensitive towards Andhra Pradesh but now it’s reported that Modi himself inquiring on Vijayawada Metro. Can it be seen as a change of attitude towards the truncated state?
