No Way To Arrest CBN: Loksatta JP

The arrest and remand of Chandrababu Naidu has been leading to a wide array of discussions on social media. Now, there’s a very interesting and well-informed explanation in this regard from Loksatta chief Jayprakash Narayana.

JP said there’s no legitimate way to arrest Chandrababu Naidu in this case.

“The reason why we elect MLAs is to form a government. The government will operate under the leadership of a CM. The job of this CM and this government is to take social reformative decisions. That’s what they’re elected to do. And that exactly what Chandrababu thought when taking up the skill development project”.

“The decision was taken by the cabinet and the project was approved. Now, there’s no right way to pin the fault of a possible scam in this case on the chief minister. Their complaint is that money had been siphoned off, but that is a different entity and needs to be investigated. If you arrest the chief ministers and executives for such reasons with regard to projects, every CM and PM will be in jail” JP said.

Needless to say, JP is not affiliated to any party in the Telugu states. He maintains a neutral stance on political affairs. The fact that he has explained how CBN can’t be arrested in this case gives the public a lot to think about how the YCP government has been trying to pressurise the TDP chief for political vendetta.
