Not deficit, trees liable for power problems in Hyd!

Hyderabad City suffered Power cuts for 11000 hours in the last month. More than the Power deficit in the state, the improper city planning has caused this power problems. It is said that there are numerous incidents where power supply was tripped after branches fell on power lines.

The branches of the trees are very close to the lines and in most areas, they touch the lines at even a small gust of wind. As a result, power supply is disturbed. And as usually it takes a long time to restore the power supply.

According to official figures, there were power cuts for nearly 11000 hours registered in 11 months between March 2014 and February 1, 2015, in the six circles of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Adding to this, the lack of proper maintenance of lines by the Power department further worsened the situation
