Office Spaces: Immediate Problem of Janasena

In the wake of so much of Bad Press due to the closure of Party Offices after elections, Janasena President Pawan Kalyan asked his cadre and leaders to maintain party offices in all the assembly constituencies. “We do not need swanky offices. Have small space to hold press conferences and ensure that they are accessible to the people,” Pawan Kalyan said.

But the party leaders are not very sure about this advice of Pawan Kalyan. “We did not get anything from the party for the election expenses. We pooled in funds from supporters and fans. In some places, we had to distribute cash even though not on par with traditional parties. All we did from our pockets,” a leader from East Godavari told us.

“We are not expecting anything from the party. But further expenses cannot be borne after the elections. Most of us are already broke,” he added. The party leaders say that Janasena should try to have permanent office spaces in all the constituencies over a period of time. “We should also have a consolidated fund to manage rented offices,” they say.

“Some part of the party donations should go to this fund. Only then offices can be maintained,” the leaders opined. Interestingly, the leader who spoke to us told that no one raised this issue with Pawan Kalyan even though all of the attended candidates and leaders have the same opinion.
