One more Khammam village to go to AP!

Central government may move an ammendment to AP Reorganisation Act 2014 in the next Parliament Session to enable the transfer of Burgampahad village. The transfer was needed so as to facilitate quick completion of Polavaram project by adding the merging villages of Telangana to AP.

Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is personally following up on the issue. It is known to our readers that the Union Government has added seven mandals of Khammam district that will be submerged due to Polavaram from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh as soon as they came to power. Burgampahad village is in the submerging villages list in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act but was mistakenly left out of the ordinance.

According to sources, Center is in favour of adding this village too. Telangana government will be given an opportunity to express its opinion under Article 3 of the Constitution but the decision of the parliament will be final as in the case of 7 mandals earlier.
