Overconfidence cost TDP an MLC seat?

In a rude shock, Ruling Telugu Desam Party had lost the Godavari districts MLC seat to Left parties candidates. This is at the same place where TDP created history by winning record number of seats in the last election. It is said that TDP had lost the seat by Over Confidence and Mismanagement.

Fielding a Corporate like Chaitanya Raju in Teachers constituency is a big mistake. He do not have good image in people and also gave the impression he will be unavailable after winning. And the biggest mistake further is not managing Rebel candidate from withdrawing.

Another corporate, ‘Pragathi’ Krishna Rao contested as rebel. In the First Preference votes, winning candidate Surya Rao got 7679 Votes, Chaitanya Raju got 5699 Votes while TDP-Rebel managed 3344 Votes. It is a clear story that TDP win should be very easy if the rebel candidate is not in fray. Also the good will of Surya Rao, got him second preference votes even if some one voted for TDP or TDP-Rebel for first place. And the Second Preference Votes got him the victory.
