Paneerselvam’s First Biggest Blow to Sasikala

O Paneerselvam is down but his saga in Tamil Nadu Politics is just not over. He hit a big blow to Sasikala’s faction by denying the party symbol in the by-election of Jayalalithaa‘s seat, RK Nagar. Both the sides have approached Election Commission of India for the Two Leaves symbol.

On late Wednesday night, ECI ruled that both the sides should not use the party name and symbol in the by-election. Sasikala’s nephew and AIADMK Deputy General Secretary, TTV Dinakaran is running for this election. This is a step intended to claim Jayalalithaa’s legacy.

Dinakaran if he wins the election, may be running for the Chief Minister post and will be the de facto CM of Sasikala who is in Bengaluru Prison.The election will happen on April 12th and winning the by-election without Two Leaves will be a herculean task for Dinakaran. It will be advantage DMK and BJP who have familiar symbols for the voters.
