Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan delivered a politically charged speech in the Assembly, strongly backing Amaravati and sending a clear message to the opposition.
His core point was direct. Even if Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP return to power, Amaravati cannot be reversed. This was not just rhetoric, but a statement aimed at reinforcing the idea that the capital issue is moving towards permanence.
Pawan Kalyan brought an emotional layer to the debate. He said Andhra Pradesh is still searching for stability even years after bifurcation. According to him, the absence of a fixed capital is not just an administrative issue but a psychological setback for the state.
He strongly defended the land pooling model in Amaravati, highlighting how nearly 29,000 farmers voluntarily gave more than 33,000 acres. He called it a rare example of trust and said any reversal would be a betrayal of those farmers.
His attack on the previous government was sharp. He accused it of deliberately stalling Amaravati and creating uncertainty through the three capital proposal. He also recalled how he was stopped from visiting Amaravati farmers, presenting it as an example of how dissent was handled.
At the same time, his speech focused on a larger point. Stability.
Pawan Kalyan said investments and development depend on consistent policy. Without that, even the best plans will fail. He indirectly referred to Hyderabad’s growth, crediting leadership that stayed consistent despite criticism.
The message was clear. Amaravati is no longer just a project under debate. It is being positioned as a settled direction.
Politically, Pawan Kalyan tried to close the loop on the capital issue.
The question, according to him, is no longer whether Amaravati will continue.
It is whether anyone can stop it.
