Naidu strides towards fulfilling biggest poll promise

Telugu Desam Party had cruised to landmark victory in the last elections mainly due to the support of Kapu community which has significant presence in AP. Chandrababu’s significance to Kapu leaders and the last minute support of Pawan Kalyan worked in favour of Naidu. TDP had announced reservation to Kapu community back then.

And it is considered as the biggest poll promise of TDP since Kapu community is very influential in the politics of Coastal Andhra. Chandrababu is working towards fulfilling the promise. In the cabinet meeting the other day, it was decided to appoint a committee which will explore how Kapus can be added to BCs with out creating issues for existing castes.

The committee will be headed by a retired high court judge and it is given 9 months time to submit its report. If TDP government was able to implement this, it will consolidate the support of Kapu community for years to come.
