Pawan Kalyan Gets Relief from High Court

In a significant development, Deputy CM and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan received relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court regarding the case filed against him for his comments on volunteers.

The case, originally registered in Guntur, stemmed from remarks Pawan made about volunteers at a Vaarahi Sabha in Eluru on July 9 last year.

He alleged that 30,000 women had gone missing in the state and suggested that volunteers were aiding anti-social elements in illegal activities.

Pawan Kalyan had filed a petition in the AP High Court seeking to quash the case.

During today’s hearing, the High Court provided a stay on the investigation, offering Pawan temporary relief. The court also adjourned the next hearing for four weeks.

During the proceedings, the Advocate General informed the court that the government is revising several similar cases. This includes reevaluating a government order issued during the previous YSRCP administration, which was used to file numerous criminal cases against various individuals, including Pawan Kalyan. The court considered this while granting the stay on Pawan’s case.

Pawan’s legal team argued that the case against him was unjustly filed by the previous government. They requested a stay on the proceedings in the Guntur court until the High Court’s review.

Acknowledging the ongoing government revisions and the arguments presented, the High Court issued a stay on the case and scheduled the next hearing four weeks later.
