Pawan Kalyan Misunderstanding or Misinterpreting Land Issues?

Pawan Kalyan today tweeted about the problems of Polavaram and Amaravati farmers. The Problems of the farmers affected by Polavaram Project and Amaravati have more than one can see. But then, Pawan Kalyan is misunderstanding or misinterpreting the issue of the farmers.

Coming to Amaravati, these Lanka lands are assigned lands. They are given by the government to the farmers to sow them but do not have right to sell. When such lands are taken for any development projects, it is a common practice across the country, lesser compensation is given to such farmers.

There are instances that governments have even taken them for free. And then there is the issue of Polavaram, it is a very different issue. The project as we all know is going on for about a decade. Some of the lands are taken during YSR regime and the agreements were signed back then paying the compensation.

The land acquisition took pace under Chandrababu Naidu’s regime. To ease the process, the government offered a better package to the reluctant farmers. Now the farmers who have already given their lands are coming back and asking compensation according to the new compensation package which the state government can not afford now. So, there is much behind than what we usually see!
