Polavaram Finds Mention in President’s Speech

President Draupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of both houses which marks the beginning of the Budget session, 2025.

It was indeed a delight to hear her mention Polavaram project in her speech. She said the government has released Rs 12,000 crore for the completion of the project.

It has to be remembered that TDP has extended its full support to NDA government in the Center. It’s a blessing that people gave unanimous mandate to the alliance government in AP, that made numbers count at the Center.

The President’s speech was all about government’s policies and the AP mandate has made Polavaram Modi government’s priority.

Thanks to this, the Polavaram project that was mired in controversies during the past government’s term is now being mentioned with pride by honorable President.

The Polavaram project is a multi-purpose project on river Godavari. The project aims to have an irrigation potential of 436,825 ha, generate 960 MW of hydropower, provide drinking water to 28.50 lakh in 611 villages and diversion of 80 TMC of water to the Krishna basin.
