Drug culture has become predominant in Hyderabad in the recent past. Most drug consumers are found in posh pubs located in areas like Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli and Madhapur.
The TG Anti-Narcotics Bureau, in association with Cyberabad SOT police, has put vigilance on the pubs in the Gachibowli and Madhapur areas of the city and conducted drug tests on 16 suspicious individuals.
Two of them were found positive for drug consumption and they were handed over to the cops at the Madhapur Police Station.
A popular DJ player from Jubilee Hills and a resident of Madhapur’s Gafoornagar were found positive for drug consumption. It was reported that they consumed cocaine and Ganja.
A case was filed against them and they were sent to remand.
Meanwhile, police officers and Anti-Narcotics Bureau officials urged the public to be vigilant regarding drug consumers and suppliers.
They asked people to report any suspicious drug peddlers or consumers found near schools or colleges to the police or Anti-Narcotics Bureau.
The government of Telangana is also taking necessary measures to curb the increasing drug culture in the city.
