Political motives hindering Capital lands collection?

Looks like Chandrababu Naidu government is going to have a torrid time in convincing the farmers for donating lands to the upcoming capital. District officials in Guntur are organizing meetings in the selected villages to explain the benefits of donating lands.

While the authorities say majority are in favour of giving their lands, few farmers have tried to disrupt the meetings expressing their displeasure over the proposal. While some are not at all ready to part their lands while some are demanding changes in the proposal like 60% share to farmers, employment to agriculture labour etc.

Our trusted sources reported, “Politics have crept in to this issue too. Farmers who are the supporters of YSRCP and Congress are blindly opposing the proposals with out even looking at it. We are told that even some opposition party leaders are brainwashing them not to cooperate with the government”. However it is said that if majority agrees for the government’s proposal, government may unleash Land Acquisition Act on others which will force them to join. At the same it is also said that government is trying to be flexible to make some changes to the land pooling proposals according to the farmers’ demands.
