Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy got elected on YSR Congress ticket from Khammam Parliament. He later joined BRS but always maintained good relations with Jagan. His company does many contracts in Andhra Pradesh.
Ponguleti recently joined Congress and is contesting for Paleru Assembly segments.
Sharmila also wanted to contest from the same seat which is a Reddy bastion. There are rumors that to help Ponguleti win, Jagan exerted pressure on Sharmila using his mother, YS Vijaya Lakshmi.
Subsequently, Sharmila withdrew and extended support to Congress and Ponguleti.
But now, Ponguleti has got a new problem.

Speaking to a TV Channel, Ponguleti made surprising comments. “TDP votebank is with Congress in Khammam district. I meet Jagan Mohan Reddy for my business purpose. I will not respond on Chandrababu’s arrest,” Ponguleti said.
But then, this comment is evoking negative response from TDP cadre.
“It is like Ponguleti wants money and contracts from Jagan and TDP votes too. But that is not possible. TDP voters will never vote to Ponguleti,” they are saying.
